New Book – and I haven’t broken my resolution yet

Just realized what a great deal I picked up last weekend – a used copy of Alice Starmore’s Book of Fair Isle Knitting for only £1.50. I didn’t know it was out of print and just thought it looked great. I’m really looking forward to an excuse for more Fair Isle. Maybe Woolly needs a more colourful cousin?

That will have to wait though. The socks are coming along well, I’m increasing 2 stitches every 6 rows so that the leg will fit nicely and I should be on the ribbing soon. The bag’s almost at the end of the mesh section so I need to figure out what size needles I was knitting the base on so I can do the top edging. I think I will do some sort of I-cord binding and handle perhaps. When they are done I’ll also need to finish up a Wensleydale scarf kit I picked up at the Stitch and Bitch Day. They should keep me busy for a few days before I need to decide which remaining projects are the most portable.
